MIDI keyboard out to Tascam?

i just bought a MIDI keyboard and i want to use it with my Tascam MKII to add rhythms and such to tracks...

problem is, it has a MIDI out on keyboard and the ins on the Tascam are the XLR type..is there a cable available for this? I hope i didn't paint myself into a corner...especially with something as simple as a cable connectivity problem...

any help for this keyboard newbie would be greatly appreciated.

Midi does not carry an audio signal. Midi is used to transfer information between machines so that they can understand each other, like machine (A) telling machine (B) when to start. It is also used in sequencers to tell a sound module what and how to play. If your midi keyboard has no audio outs then the only way to record it is to use a mic.
