First of all, I have n-Track 4.0.5. I added a MIDI interface that I borrowed from my dad and had it working with n-Track, but I had to give it back. Now whenever I hit the record button (whether of not I have any MIDI tracks) I get a message saying "Error openning MIDI In device". Nothing bad happens, but I have to click "ok" after hitting the record button, which is kind of a pain in the ass. Think my only hope is to set the prefs to default and put everything back where I had it (minus the MIDI stuff)?

I think in the File | Settings menu, there is a screen where you can disable the MIDI input device. Either that, or you are re-opening a project (sng file) that contains MIDI tracks pointing to your missing MIDI device. You should be able to switch them to the "Windows MIDI Mapper" (or something called like that).

I didn't see such a screen under file > settings, but when i was enabling/disabling the input clock sync I got the error repeatedly. That, however got me nowhere. These are new sessions I'm starting, and it still thinks I should have a MIDI device coming in. Thanks for the reply, I'll see if I can get my account to work over at the forums on ntrack's page.

Actually, it's "File | Settings | Preferences". Then click on the "Audio Devices" and make sure you have the correct inputs/outputs selected. Selecting only one of these usually does the trick -> "MME : Wave Mapper" or "WDM : Wave Mapper". However, you may also have DS or Aiso as options.

I just reset the preferences and it seemed to work. I tried changing the audio device to MME or WDM, but that didn't work either. Thanks for the replies though!
