MIDI file-Deconstruct MP3

Greetings Citizens,

Im looking for someone who can advise me on the following...

1. How can I change the notes from a solo on standard sheet music into digital form and save them to a midi file ....

2. Is there anyway to deconstruct an MP3 so as to remove a soloist track to essentially create a backing track?

1) You can download trials of all the major notation softwares "Forte" is but one. If they don't tell you how, probably can't be done.

2)Karaoke?

Mr Dave,
thank you for your kindness, yes can download them but cannot create the Midi with trial version. I guess I will probably get software for this if it comes to that. The MP3 is to practice or perform solos ......
sort of like Karaoke...

I always thought the trials were fully functioning? My son has used most of them over a couple of years and he had never reported any such lack.
Re the "Karaoke" I would put money on Reaper doing that!

1. Musescore.org - it's free and works on windows or mac.

2. No, not reliably. Get a karaoke version of the song (usually done by people recreating the song)
 
Thanks everyone....I looked at Musescore and its an option for the midi.....so far so good...
The MP3's are of classic jazz instrumentals.....I know there must be a way to remove those solos ....there is a remote control rover driving around on mars right now.....if man is capable of that certainly he is capable of this....there will be a "Modest" reward for the person who can deliver.... :rolleyes:
