One Hit Wonder
Simple enough question -

I have a project where I am using two DXi's. If I am running 8 midi instrument tracks to one of the DXi's using channels 1-8, can I also use channels 1-8 on the second DXi.

Please don't tell me I can use 9-16. What I want to know is can I duplicate the same MIDI channels on two separate DXi's?

(I know I can easily test this, but I'm feeling lazy today and hoping someone already knows the answer.) :)

Yes...

At least I tried it with VSC. I load two DXi. Each acts as independent sound module. As long as you route the MIDI track correctly. It's very good question, indeed, dachay, because I'm not sure if it should be "Sonar's responsible" or "Respective DXi's responsible" for handling this thing. I haven't tried other DXi for this matter anyway.

I ran 4 instances of LiveSynthPro on the last piece I did. I put drums into LSP1 on channel 1 and bass into LSP2 on channel 1, Sonar routed it with no problem.

But why? You can use 9-16?

(sorry, I couldn't resist :D :D :D )

Thanks, guys. So it looks like this is doable.

James, I'm saving 9-16 for when I grow up. :)
