I have several different drum kits programmed into my midi keyboard but every time I use them they are all just defaulted by cakewalk to one standard kit.
ie: I have 6 "drum pad" keys (bass, snare, hats, etc...)
and kits that are played on the keys.
The "drum pad" keys are all defaulted into one type of drum kit regardless of how I have them set and when I play the drums on the regular keys, they are recorded as piano tones!
I hear the drums properly out of my keyboard but it is the same defaulted drum kit through the speakers and in playback!
help!
Is there any way I can use the drum sounds on my keyboard or do I have to use a seperate drum machine?

If Cake is recording the midi data correctly (i.e., right notes at right time/tempo/length) it is probably:

1) What channel is Cake sending the midi data on to your synth (check track properties)

and/or

2) What channel is the synth set to receive on (for drums) (check your synth)

and/or

3) Do you (probably inadvertenly) have a program change message stuck in there somewhere. (check track properties, look at midi data)

and/or

Check those 3 things and you'll probably be fine.
