i had a thread a while back, asking about midi controllers and random other stuff. someone told me to buy this m-audio controller, and i did.

i have reason 2.5, and i'm just wondering how i actually record/make the beats with the controller? or is that even possible?

i'm a beatmaking n00b, haha.

What kind of m-audio controller do you have? If it's a midi keyboard controller, in Reason 3.0 it's just plug and play. Just go into the Reason 3.0 preferences and select your midi controller from the list.

For Reason 2.5, you might have to install the drivers for the device or it won't see it.

If your keyboard works, then you're all your set. Just make sure you have the mixer set up. Go to the create menu and add a the 14 channel mixer. Next, click on the mixer and highlight it. Go to the create menu and select a sampler or a synth module. On the instrument module, select a sound to use. Then on the timeline, there should be two tabs to slide. One "L" and one that says "R". The "L" stand for Start and thr "R" stand for end. This is how you set how many bars you want it to loop. Make sure the loop button is active. Now just click on the record button and press play. You ready to go.
