Midi Controller Assign Help Needed!

Hi,
Just yesterday, I bought the Edirol PCR3- Midi Controller Keyboard and it`s great.
But the thing is, I want to assign the buttons and knobs to control the parametres, volumes, pan etc in Logic Audio Platinum 5.5...I`ve treid all the memory sets and I`ve downloaded the memory sets off the edirol site but nothing seems to work. In the manual it says you can have the L1 L2 and L3 buttons to work as Rewind, Play and Stop buttons etc. But the settings in the manual are for Cubase, Sonar and Pro Tools....no Logic!
Please help...am I being ignorant and is it something very simple?!
I just basically have no idea how to assign the buttons to do things in logic for me! I`d like to be able to use the faders on the Keyboard to do some "touch" automation...but it doesn`t happen!

Yo L & M:

Someone posted a link to MIDI info on this site. I was looking it over the other day. I DON'T do MIDI--but the reading was helpful in understanding the process. Maybe you can find it on the search function?

One thing I do remember from reading the links was that different keyboards/controllers have different set-ups for sending information. So, I am guessing that your board can do what you want but you have to set it a non-standard way.

Again, I'm just recalling what I read yesterday. So, poke around and see if you can find the post with the links. It is recent and you should be able to dig it up.

wow, thankyou very much. I`ll definately look through all of that info. I really want to get my head around it all...it`d be great to feel "in control" of it if you know what I mean?!
