Hey

I bought a Emu Xboard 25 and its kool although i wondered if any one knew how to hook it up to cubase so i can use the knobs to control things, like the mixer or VST effects and stuff.

I wonder if you've tried to find out yourself.

RTFM.

Yes, I'm beeing harsh today.

of course i have................

i read about routing the midi signal to here there and everywhere but i dont know how to do that. The manual is of no help alough i did get an application with it where you can save all your current settings and stuff but if i cant set them to anything what use is it. Ive managed to do what i want in reason and figured it out myself liek i do alot of things and just wanted some help here. Surely there must be someone that knows and wants to share, afterall thats the reason you're here?

If you know why dont you just tell me. Im not an idiot and actually thought about posting on this forum, and have done so before without encountaring retards like yourself. Will the program Midi-ox do it?

I'm glad to hear that, it's just that most people don't even bother to open the pdf file, that's all. I get kinda tired of topics like "hey how do I record my geetar via midi?".

I don't know *exactly* how to do it, but in the Devices -> Midi Device Manager, you can create a new midi controller as Define New, after which you get a boatload of options for controlling things, linking cubase functions to midi cc values etc. You'll have to dive into that yourself.

However, I think an easier way would be to find out how the control software that came with the Emu works. Most of the time, these things have some kind of "learn" function, where you select which knob you want to assign, then change the parameter in the software. Depends on the product, but my bet is this is the easiest way to do what you want.

You don't need any additional software.

thankyou, isn't it nicer when we're all friends? I completely understand where your coming from, I left another forum and came here because there was a new topic posted every day along the lines of, 'whats the cheapest way to record my guitar' or 'whats the best free recording program'.

Ill take a look at what you suggested, like you say it cant be too difficult it just isnt that obvious in Cubase.

thanks :)
