A Muse Zen
When I try to add Chorus and/or Reverb (in Console or Track View) to a MIDI track, it doesn't do anything. Seems that the only effects for MIDI are Echo, Arpeggiator, etc.
Does it have to be converted to digital audio to apply any other effects? I'm running Cakewalk 9 Deluxe, the MIDI card is a Soundblaster Live MP3+. The computer is a 933 mHz PIII with 256 Meg.

Thanks in advance for your replies...

robn,

Yes, that's the case. Some sound cards have reverb and maybe another effect or two that you can apply to the MIDI sounds (like the SB AWE64 and Live). With the Live (I have one too) you can turn this on and adjust it in the Environmental Audio utility.

933 MHz? I hate you.

Thanks AlChuck...I'll look into that...I was hoping there was some way to at least add reverb...

I'll reset the multiplier on my motherboard and not overclock so much if my 933 is gonna keep you up nights...ha ha

's okay... mine is a 700 MHz PIII (not overclocked), good enough for my needs...

Same with mine...I bought an extra fan and it keeps the CPU pretty cool...I opened 12 programs and then played some Cakewalk demos just to see how hot the CPU would get...the hottest it got was 98 F.

The sad part is, our PIII 700's will be comparatively slow in a year or so... technology marches on !!! thank God
