Hi everyone,

I'm a complete newb, so forgive the possibly silly question. Is there a way to record 3 mics with 2 inputs? Say, if I mic an acoustic guitar with 2 microphones in stereo, and then use another mic for vocals. Could I split the two guitar mics into one input? Or would I need a larger interface with more inputs?

Three inputs is three inputs. You can't jam three inputs through two channels without them becoming permanently mixed together.

You need a larger interface with more inputs.

Even if you could usea Y cable and connect both guitar mics to the same input, it wouldn't be stereo anymore. It would be mono because one input will give you one signal in the computer.
