Microports as good as a studio

Hi,
I do some interviews in amatuers football leagues in Europe.

How do you recommend do get good sound when doing interviews in the field with an amatuer setup?
 
There are a lot of reporters now using an Iphone and a good mic attachment like this Link. But as Gecko said a digital hand held recorder would be an easy way.
