Hi again, all! I have yet another question for you.
I'm hoping to record a few tracks for a dixieland group over the course of the next year. (I'll be playing on tenor/bari sax. It's not your standard dixieland group, but it's got a great sound.)
From what I can tell, the group is into recordings of a more "live" sound. (In other words, mistakes are often "bonus" material to help bring the listener in.) That works well because I'll be using my Roland VM-3100 as a mixer into my laptop using an Edirol UA-1A USB adaptor (analog signal). This has worked fairly well in the past.
I'm looking to pick up some pretty cheap microphones. The band members are all in varying stages of their college careers (including myself), so money is a major objective.
ANYWAY, on to the question. What affordable/cheap microphones would you recommend for the following setup?
Clarinet
Tenor/Bari Sax
Trumpet
Tenor Trombone
Piano
Upright Bass
Drums
I looked at the Sennheiser E608 as a mic I could buy for my own, non-dixieland use (i.e. recital recordings, etc.) Does anyone have experience with it?
Thanks in advance for your answers. As always, it's greatly appreciated!
