sorry if this is the wrong forum but i werent sure were to post this question!

i miked up the drum kit in my room today with 2 behringer b1s as overheads, a sm57 on the snare and an audio techinca pro 25. I had the 2 overheads pretty high up, however, with the gain turned fully down on my mixing desk (yamaha mg16/4) the overheads kept clipping when the kit was played (especially on the snare) Then when i listened to the kit with as little clipping as i could possibly get it seemed it had little presence and that most of it was being picked up by the overheads. Is there any equipment i should get/pre eq i should to be doing to help sort this problem? Or is it a case of just re-positioning the mikes or indeed using less? My room is quite small....

Any help appreciated

That seems quite odd. Anyway, do you have the -10 pad engaged on the B1's? I use the B1 on kick with the -10 pad on and it still doesn't clip. Try moving the overheads around a bit. Move them more away from the instrument that is causing clipping. Try using just one as an OH. It sounds like you need to treat your room a bit too.
