The one thing that's been bugging me a lot is this: I have all these microphones. With the exception of a few cheap dynamics and condensers, most either:
A. Use a special oversized mic clip (VP88)
B. Use a special undersized mic clip (my old stereo mic)
C. Use a special shock mount (Studio Projects B3)
D. Screw directly onto the stand (bass drum mics, Nady ribbon)
To switch between these mics, I have to unscrew the shock mount/custom clip/shock mount from the stand. For the ribbon mic, that's doubly scary, since I'm always afraid I'm going to hurt the ribbon in the process.
Back in the day when I did video work, if all my tripods happened to be from the same manufacturer, I could buy extra plates and slam different cameras/camcorders down in a couple of seconds. It would be nice to be able to do the same thing for microphones, but I can't find anything like it.
Does anybody manufacture such a product? If not, are there any manufacturers reading this board who would be interested in selling such a product?
