I always tend to overload my MXL603s as overheads when recording drums. Neither of my pres have pads, DMP3 and Soundcraft 10. So what should I get for a pad? Should I get a cheap pre with a pad like the BLUETUBE? I have about two hundred to spend.

I have the chance to get a Focusrite TwinTrak Pro for 300.. Does it have anysort of pad?

Yo Burn- Save the money, don't buy a cheap pre. Just get a couple of inline mic pads (attenuators) Shure makes them, adjustable for I think, -10,
-15, and -20 db. The model # is Shure A15AS, $39.95 at 8th street.

Then you can use them with any pre or any mic.- Enjoy-Richie

Thanks a ton, that is what I was looking for, but couldn't ever find them :)
