I've been recording with a TASCAM DP-004 four track. When I plug in any microphone and begin to record, the mic buzzes, unless I hold it, which is difficult while playing guitar. Is there any equipment that will prevent the microphone from buzzing.? I'm under the impression it has to do with the wiring in my house not being grounded.

It cetainly could be a grounding issue buy you description.
Time to get some brass rod and earth bond the house. Just kidding there buddy dont mess with electrics unless you are qaulified to do so.
Most houses are earth bonded at the junction box i very much doubt your's is not. Otherwise any electrical shock could be lethal.
Are you using an earthed 3 prong plug on the tascam?

Are you using the reccomended

optional PS-P520 power adapter?

Try using batterys and see if you get the same resulting noise.
Make sure you have the input switched to mic level not line too.

Thanks, I haven't tried it yet with the batteries. Hopefully that will work.
