Hey this is my first post! I just need some suggestions on how to mic a high school acapella choir effectively and nicely. The group has 6 people and I am using a Fostex R8 to record everything down. I was planning to mic each person individually with a large diaphragm mic and then use 2 OH's for a stereo image. But since almost everyone here is more experienced than I am, any additional suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah, good idea. Just remember the 3:1 rule when positioning the individual mics--for every foot away from the performer, make sure the adjacent microphones are three feet away from each other. If the mics are 2 feet from each performer, then have each mic 6 feet away from each other, otherwise you could end up with phase problems.
