Mic Stand Mods

I was reading the new issue of TapeOp earlier, and they mention a particular brand of Stereo Bar, and how much it sucks with the little elbow piece. But they had an answer! Take the elbow off and screw the bar directly to the mic stand! I'd never thought of this before (ok, I'm a little slow, but still).

So anyway, it got me thinking about mic stands in general. There's one out there now that's like $800, but you can attach a whole mess of mics to it.

Anybody care to post their mic stand mods? I'm always curious!

Here are a couple of mods. The first one shows a mic stand holding two cymbals. The second shows a mic stand... without the mic stand.
