Hey guys,

I was wondering if I could get your advice on which preamp i should use and would sound better.

Its either between running my mic into a Behringer Mic2200 and that into a my Alesis Multimix 8 USB or just running my mic straight into my Multimix 8?

Which would yield a better sound. And sorry, but I do not have the money to go buy a really good mic preamp. I would if I could. I just want to know what you think would yield a better sound.

I wouldn't think the Behringer would be any better, maybe different, but not better... Try the multimix alone first, if you're not happy with the results... then reconsider your preamp options... I wouldn't think that pre would provide any improvement over the Alesis pres.

And don't be seduced by the "smooth, warm, tube" claims. This pre has a low voltage tube running parallel to the main audio channel to introduce distortion... It's not the natural harmonic distortion of a full plate voltage tube driving the main channel. In fact... most of these "toob" pres, even the more respected models from different manufacturers, are usually run with the tube effect dialed way back, if not defeated totally.
