Mic Pre For DP-24?

Does anyone here use a Mic_Pre when recording vocals onto a DP-24?

Yes on my 2488/2. A lot depends on the vocalist, mic & sound I want to deliver. Usually i use the ART TPSII but have been using s DBX ProVocal to print vocals.

Mind if I ask you bassbrad, do you use the s-pdif out from ProVocal to 2488 ?

I have used the s/pdif out with satisfying results for vox and other things* as the A/D converter on the dbx is quite good. But usually use the xlr out into an xlr input to add another gain stage since I also like the A/D in the Tascam.

I have the ProVocal in a rack and have used it several times as a pre for my bass and it sounded very nice.
