mic pre/ compressor suggestions?

HI, currently im using the vtb-1 with a at4047 mic. I want to get a better pre, but also something with a built in compressor, mainly because i want to be able to limit while im recording for singers with a wide dynamic range. Ive been checking out the focurite voicemaster pro processor. any other suggestions? thanks
