Mic Pre and Line Input

I sometimes use a electronic drum kit line-in into my mixer. I would like to boost the signal a little from the drum module. Is there any risk or danger to using a mic pre between the drum module and the mixer? If so what should I watch for and are there any alternatives for boosting the signal? Thanks

Most pre's are able to handle line inputs but be sure before you buy anything. The mic pres on your mixer will probably work fine. Just turn down the volume on your drum module and slowly raise the volume while it's playing just to be sure you dont give it too much juice.
