THis is kind of directed to Ethan but anyone can feel free to jump in. The pads on my bellari preamp are noisy. Don't know why but if i pad a source i get much unwanted garbage.
That being said i'd like to build some mic attenuators. I've read ethan's page on his site on the pad circuit and it looks like something i can handle. I did try to download the resistance calculator program but the link was inoperative. There was mention of the consoles impedence rating. I'm quite new to electronics but like i said, this seems within my grasp so i think i'll have a go. Any advice or explanation on the calculations for resistance values would be appreciated.
edit: I've investigated the input impedance of the Bellari Rp220 and it says 600 ohm lo-z which is what i'm after. So i will post my calculations and hopefully someone can check them.
Edit2: so i came up with an R2 value 46.86537
hahahah, WHAT?
