What do you think of the MXL v89? which would you pick AT 4040 or the v89.

Given those options, I'd grab the 4040 in a heartbeat. But the question is- mic to record *what*?-Richie

Not to mention that it's about $50. cheaper as well!

Can't comment on the v89, but I own the AT4040, best use of $300 you'll make. Great on vocals, acoustic guitar. I've used the 4040 as a room mic on guitar cabs wasn't real impressed with that app, but that could have been the fault of my room. I did like it close miced along with an SM57 on a guitar cab.
