i've just tried to record my acustic guitar with my condensor mic and the mic picks up my click track on my headphones.
is there any way of me being able to hear my click track without the mic picking it up ?

Not trying to be a wise guy but are you sure that you don't have a monitor on somewhere? Computer speaker? It seems unlikely that the mic would get the click track from the headphones unless you have them VERY loud. Just trying to help...

Turn down your phones or just the click, either way it shouldn't be that loud.

What kind of phones are you using? You need phones that seal with no leakage. Circumaural closed back phones. Turning down the click may help too.

the headphones are beyerdynamic dt250's when i say you can hear the click track i mean you can only hear it when i'm not playing or playing quietly.
it's not coming fron the mixing desk(well i don't think it is)

mic -> desk -> group 1 -> soundcard

click track -> desk -> stereo out (no monitors on just headphones)

Have you tried panning the click to one side and the guitar to the other to see if there is any change?

Damn condenser mics and their sensitivity!! Well, it comes with the territory. If your phones aren't closed back, try putting some tape over the ports while tracking. If you still have a problem, and turning the click down enough to eliminate the bleed pickup leaves you losing the beat, then try recording the click and putting a volume envelope on it to lower it's level in the soft passages and on the fade out.

Curious, the Beyers are closed back circumaural phones and should be OK.

Ok take this with a grain of salt, but your beyers are rated at 16 or was 18 dB of rejection from outside noises (this works both ways), the Sennheiser HD-280's are rated at 32dB of attenuation. Now neither spec tells you at what frequency that attenuation is at, but I would be betting the Sennheisers have more isolation and thus less of a problem with click tracks. Another and even cheaper option is the moreme's, I have two pair of them and have had very little problems with track bleed, never tried a click through them, but again they seal nice and tight. I am not saying either of those two will fix your problem, mic placement, click volume, etc. maybe should be looked at first.
