Hi
Could you please guide me. I need one microphone to record electric-guitar (through amp), acoustic guitar, synth through amp, and singing. (not at the same time :rolleyes: )

Havent decided what my budget is, but i guess around 150 dollars. perhaps more.

Thanks

Try the Shure SM57, it's a good all around mic, and even as you buy new mics for other purposes (like strictly vocals) you'll still always have a use for it. It sells for $89.99 new, or see if you can snatch one used for around $50.

thanks.
How about the fact that i don´t want to do any drum recordings, does that have anything to say. Is there a "shop for mic" guide somewhere on homerecording.com that I´ve missed

Take a look at the stiucky's the non-Harvey one has a guide to basic mics.

The reccomendation of the SM57 is a good one though, sooner or later you will need one anyway.

keep in mind that you will need a preamp for whatever you buy, and phantom power for a condensor.

Got pre-amp?

Just didn't want you to find out that you forgot something on your shopping list.

The what, couldnt google it, please explain.

I have a behringer MIC100 http://www.aage.dk/default.asp?page=/Shoppingsystem/vare.asp?varenr=18758

and im thinking of buying a Lexicon Omega, how do you think this system would work

This one Im buying aswell: http://www.behringer.com/02_products/prodindex_ub.cfm?id=UB1832FX&lang=eng

Shure ---> MIC100 ---> mixer ---> Omega ---> Laptop (cubase)

Buy a Shure SM57. Its a great starter mic and you will still be using it if you are recording 20 years from now. The ShureSM57 is used everyday in multimillion dollar studios.
