mic for accoustic guitar????

I have been reading everyone's postings for a week or so. I have one question. I have a AT4033a and I am very happy with it for vocals. But for and accoustic guitar I take it that I should be using a small diaphrgm mic, if I understand what I have been reading. Anybody have any ideas?
I'm thinking about the Rode....which model I don't know. I will use it primarily for accoustic guitar....but another mic for background vocals etc. to compliment the AT would be a bonus. I gues my question is this: Which Rode model is going to work best for accoustic guitar recordings. Also any other mics in the $200 price range worth looking at?

Large diaphram and small diaphram condenser mics are both used on acoustic guitar. I bought the AT4033a because of how many producers were reportedly loving it on acoustic guitar.

Small dia. mics have less mass and it takes less energy to move the surface of the diaphram. So it's good at picking up the small, high frequencies produced by the plucked string. You can hear the string attack really well. However, they aren't good at picking up the "warmth" for the same reason. That's what the large dia. mics do well. They pick up the complex low-end frequencies.

Use either mic for different reasons but you should get a great sound out of the AT4033. I mean a really great sound with good miking techniques and a decent preamp. A lot of people use both mics at the same time for stereo recordings.

Then there are ribbon mics that are becoming real popular for acoustic guitars.

But for the most part ribbon mics = lotsa $$$$$ so there not really in the same league........

The best bang for the buck in small diaphram condensers is the AT Pro 37A. They're kinda hard to find, but worth it. They can be had for about 125 bucks new...

I've got some KM84s, Bluelines, Josephson C660s, and SM81s, and the 37A hangs right in there for acoustic instruments...
