I've got my music room set up for recording, but the first few sessions have made me aware of a problem I haven't considered: the snake-nest issue of mic cables running all over the room. In addition to being an eyesore, they're also a serious tripping hazard, especially when trying to carry a double bass across the room. I'd like to get the room set up so that pluuging in the mics and getting "ready to go" is much easier than it is now.
My question is, what's the best way to get about 4-6 mic cables to go roughly 30' or so around the edges of the wall to get where they need to go without running across the middle of the floor? Would a small snake be the best way, or would it be better to try to find 6 30' mic cables and bundle them together? What brands of cable are recommended for any of these possibilities? Sorry for so many questions, but there they are! Any help appreciated.
