Mic Budget..

hi!

i need some mics to start recording, and i was thinking bout getting the sm57 for vocals, guitar and snare, hi-hat,cymbals,toms, and a shure pg52 for the kick drum.. i basically think i can manage with 2 mics, does anyone have any suggestions..?

Do you mean you will use a single SM57 as overhead? It will sound like crap.

Superlow budget drum mics:
1 Behringer ECM8000 in front of kit
1 SM57 on snare

Will sound better, and be cheaper than your suggestion.

Skip in the lowly PG series mics, and go with less until you can get something decent. Quality mics make all the difference, and in the long run, you'll be glad you saved for something better.
