Ive settled on the mic that I want, Bock 195. Its not cheap, but I feel like if I were to decide to sell it off someday, it would hold most of its value, do you agree?

Guess who I have to convince of this fact....dont let me down boys!!

Yes the resale value will be good.
Why a Bock and what are you looking for in a microphone?

I just want a all around better than good all purpose LDC.

The tape-op review , issue #84, pretty much sums up that this mic does just about everything really good.

Plus David Bock has a pretty good track record of building great mics, according to my research anyway.

Yeah Tape-Op is one of my favorite reads. ..... issue #48! that is way back there. Just got my issue #93.

Tape-op is about the only magazines that I read front to back, and never throw away.

I found that review online, I LOVE their reviews!

The 195 does have a bit of low out put so the so the preamp has more of an influence on the sound.
What do you have for preamps?

Preamp(s) would be next on the list, but for now I just use my mixers, DDA, and I have a ART TPS II, not the greatest but they get me by and better than pre's on a cheap mackie, behringer, etc.

It's a good start - but you have to get new preamps pass the boss!!!
