Hi all, I'm just after an opinion really. The home recording thing, is kinda new for me... I'm laying down a 'reference mix', so when we (My band) get into the studio we'll have something to discuss and won't end up spending a fortune on production fees because we're unprepared.
I'm approaching my project from a Song Writer's point of view, I'm using Pro Tools on Mac and everything is going very well, but it's now time to record a sample vocal. I tried with iMIC but it's no good, in fact, I prefer the tonal quality I get when I just sing at the screen, but the main problem is the ambient noise. I'd like something that performs like a SM7B but costs next to nothing... I don't need to sound like Otis Redding (I can leave that problem with our Engineer), I just want to lay a track down where I can't hear the traffic outside and the microwave pinging! - Any suggestions gratefully received.
All the best
