i'm listening on my laptop's speakers so i can't say much about the mix - except that even on these tiny speakers this tune sounds really good.

edit are those real drums?

This is waaaaaaaaaaaaay too loud. Something is clipping a hell lot. Couldnt hear it for more than 15 seconds on my headphones.

To faderbug, THANKS!!

And to Marca....
How do i take care of that?
I use Audacity, Guitar->dist. pedal->soundcard (realtek HD)
Effects i used were delay, compression.

First, turn the levels down. The recording is not bad at all, but the levels are way too high. first try the Master level a couple of db's down. Should take care of the problem. You can download Reaper. Is so much better than Audacity.

dang, this sounds awesome, and sounds like with the right vox on top it would rock even more.
The only thing i could spot is that it maybe sounded a little muddy, but i dont know much about how those guitar effects are being created, and it might have been intended. =P
Definitely rocked though. Nice

Good song, Unet. The drums got a little lost in the compression. Ceiling low?

I like the heavy use of roll fills in the beginning.

The stuttering effect of the guitar rhythm is very nice. Way cool sound and hard to pull of I would imagine. It's actually a different rhythm than the drums and fits very well.

From 1:50 to 2:30 should be all drum solo in the background IMO. Punchier the better, sharp and wet.

The last minute of the song is the best part. Took over two minutes to download. Open up a soundclick page just to park songs there for critique.

They open up right away and your audience would appreciate it.

I didn't open the new mix that you linked for that reason. Would love to hear it on Soundclick, but I don't have the time to download another mix.

Thanks for the opinions!

To snakeyez,
I can't for the life of me come up with vocals for this!
Any suggestions?
And singing styles maybe?

thanks

haha, i hear vocals that sound similar to three days grace or papa roach. Probably because they're a few of my favorites. haha. It sounds like that kind of style would fit well in there. Want me to take this clip and try my luck at some vox over it? Sounds fun

Sure!
Although our vocalist might get jealous....

Go ahead.
And send it to me once you're done....with lyrics ofcourse.

Alrighty! I'm not trying to make anyone jealous, it just sounds like fun! Rock is my favorite style of music, but unfortunately my voice is not very rugged and is basically impossible to make it have that awesome sound, like "five finger death punch" "disturbed" and the like...
Anyhow, it sounds fun, and i'll probably take a stab at it tonight!

I can hear the clipping too. It's definitely something to do with the kick drum. It's not there all the time though. In the sort of quieter part directly after the intro the bass drum isn't clipping but it definitely sounds too in your face and prominent in the mix, and is EQ'd in a very different way. Try lowering it in the mix and compressing it different.

Other than that, your song was good and your guitar tones were nice.

No no
I made a soundclick account already,
I'm gonna upload the stuff there today!

I use a drum machine....maybe compression doesnt do it much good.

Its good to know someone with your experience actually likes it. Confidence booster and whatnot...:)

The drums are brighter on Trojan. It's a good song. What did you do differently? Not that Mesmerize is not good, but the drums are still muddy. I don't know, maybe it's just the shitty cans I'm listening on. Sounds overcompressed, though.

They sound crisper and more present on Trojan. My .02

Yup, the drums on mezmerize were compressed pretty badly, i did a bit too much experimentation.

Ok...another track uploaded to Soundclick....its instrumental (or instru - metal)
Its called Devil Sold his Soul (yes, after the band!)

I was going for a sorta ambient/metal type instrumental track thus the repetiveness.

Any takers?

is that acoustica beatcraft? I think thats what the software is called? I think its good but like everyone else said its a little toooo... hot/compressed.
