I was trying to record my keyboard in the Fostex MR8, and i was using the built in metronome. When i finished recording and i played back the recording, you could faintly hear the metronome clicking away in the background.

This did not happen when the metronome was turned off.

This would obviously be understandable if i were recording using a microphone of some sort, but i would definetly not expect this to happen while recording a keyboard (no microphones used whatsoever, you just plug it in).

Thanks for any input on why this happens and how to stop it...

The only thing I can think of is to turn the volume of the metronome down. I've heard of getting the bleed from using a headphones and mic, but not when going DI. It has never happened to me...

Yes, it has happened to me...recording keyboards.

Now, I don't remember in which specific circumstances it happened but I will try to check it and report my findings.

The MR8 metronome sound is a beep and what one hears after a recording, as you said, is a faint click. I remember that I used to get the sound to 1 ( or just the volume needed to hear the beep clearly ).

Maybe the sound emmision of the metronome through the headphones is received as noise through the cables and inputs.

can someone explain ?
