Having Problems getting a click track/metronome/ 4 count ( using Cubase Element 7) before the track and recording begins. I looked up the net and You Tube, i got the whole setting up procedure, ctrl/click transport window, on/off icon, but still not getting a simple 4 or 8 or how many counts i want to pre count before the track begins...I am 100% it is operator error...lol

Which DAW are you using? Look for "pre-roll" in your options.

Right On ! Thanx for the help, I also found this site. And It guided me a showed me the way to Cubase Happiness...

On my last session, Cubase was not playing the click track even though I had the metronome enabled. The culprit for me was that I needed to mark off “click” under the output in VST connections that I wanted to play the click track on. This is how you set the audio output for the Cubase click track /metronome.

I usually dont use preroll because there are sometimes sounds that happen before the one of the first measure that will get cut off when you render.

I'm not talking pick up notes, I'm talking someone being slightly ahead of the beat, the sound of someone just about to hit a chord on a guitar, a breath, etc...

I just start the song at measure 3 and use the first two as the count i .
