hello...
ran into this problem a few threads/weeks ago: upon playback after recording a track, the meters pin into the red and the audio can't recover and everyting is choppy...one track plays...time code spudders and then everything catches up 1+ minutes into the song/session.
the initial time it was with only 3 tracks and a demo so after chalking it up to a clitch, i scrapped the session. later sessions provided no problems. til now....
well now i'm deep into a good/keeper session and this was pretty scary. i was able to delete the track/waveform, close the session, reopen it and things were fine but:
BTY: the track is a low volume lightly distorted guitar
1. What gives???
2. prior to exiting CEP but after deleting the waveform (track 13), the meters still pinned into the red with the previously kosher (12 other) tracks on playback.
3. all levels with the soundcard patchabay were fine (delta 66, omni studio) and F10 on CEP showed no problems/peaks (i.e. meter overload)
4. if this happens again am i able fix the offensive track/waveform during the intial stages of playback...delete silence...???
5. both times this happened, phantom power was being used...coincidence?
6. is this a potential cpu problem; it's a pentium 4 2.2ghtz...2 years old...
7. What gives???
any input would be great...
thank you in advance
