How come when I monitor on Cool Edit and my meters are peaking, but when I burn the wave onto a CD the volume is really low. I'm not the only one to have this problem because some of my friends are complaining of the same thing. What are we doing wrong????

I don't think you're doing anything wrong - I think it's a thing in CEP. I've heard of this before, I think, and if I'm not mistaken, one way to get better results is to right click on the meter, and in the dialog that pops up, deselect 'Adjust for DC'. Apparently, when 'Adjust for DC' is selected the playback meter reading isn't exactly accurate, and indicates clipping when there is none really.

What sample/bit rate are you recording onto disc? Are you burning the wave to a data or audio format?

When you right click on the meter, in the top section, what is checked?

Just some questions to get an overall idea of what your problem is.

I'm burning it as waves at 44.1 and 16 bit. My meters are set to: Show on Play and Record , 90db Range and Dynamic Peaks
