Drums: yeah sorry, but they really suck.
The toms aren't tuned in the first place, at least not for metal. Put some dampers on them/ tune them a lot lower, whatever.
I don't hear a kick.
The snare: is this a snare? It sounds more like a toy-drum from Fisher Price. With some eq'ing (bring up some highs) you could make something from it. Also, don't forget to put some kind of plate-reverb on it.
Cymbals: Mixed way too far away, bring them up. Also, the ambience of the room makes them very unclear. Try some more close-miking.
Guits: Though nice mic'ed, I don't like the tone at all. Try some less presence, another amplifier, guitar, fx-panel whatever.
Bass: Nice, but also mixed way too soft and the fact it is being di'ed is not very positive for the sound.
Song: Like the idea, like the style, but the song didn't do me much.

<S.A.>
Guits: that is a way better guitar tone.
Drums: Better snare this time, better miking I guess, this one sounds indeed like a snare (has more highs) and has some kind of better ambience. But it is played with a lot of timing glitches (I know everything about it..:()
Even the toms are better, though still tuned too 'open'.
Bass: fine.
Song: With some lyrics, it could be a nice song.

Yeah, what he said about the drums. The snare DOES sound like a Fisher price snare and the kick is basically nonexistant. The guitar tones aren't too bad. If you didn't use the 57 on guitar micing, USE IT. Cram that thing into the cone for a crunchy tone. The guitars sound to me like the mic wasn't close enough to the cone.

Yeah, I expected the comments on the drums. I wish I could go back and redo them. It was a really cheesy setup. And the tuning was horrible, but that was the drummer "sound." If I were to redo the drums, they'd sound a lot better. But you try micing in a living room, with a stubborn drummer, three 57's/58's, and a Crate:eek: mic. I think the Crate ended up in the kick, with a 58 on snare and two 57's on rack toms. All of this was run into a Tascam 424 portastudio. AND no isolation between the guitars and the set, so lots of bleed. SOAC and Killjoy were done the first day. After I reviewed the drum tone, I fixed some things for SubApth. It's better, not great. :(

I like some of the guitar tones. Some of the tones are supposed to be a really ratty sound. Again I had to battle the other guitarist on his "sound" (really tinny ratty distortion.) I do like S.A. It has lyrics and somewhere I have a version played with a drum machine where I sing (poorly) on it.

I'm mainly looking for comments on song structure/ idea. Comments on guitar and bass are welcome too. But I KNOW the drums suck ass. BADLY!!!

I appreciate the comments so far. Please keep them coming.

Not too shabby!

The structures of the songs sound pretty good for this type of thing. The playing could be executed a bit tighter, especially on the drummers part. Overall could be pretty cool with some vocals. The guitars might sound a bit heavier if you rolled back on the gain a bit for recording. It would thicken them up a bit. Keep it coming.

Hey thanks, analytical man. I agree with the the guitar comment as well. The live sound of the guitars was pretty cool but it's just too fizzy recorded. Especially with three high gain guitars in parts.

I plan on starting to rerecord some of these soon, and maybe add lyrics. They'll be on here when I get finished.
