I debated with myself on whether or not I should post these anymore, but fuck it, I've posted one every year, so here is this year's version of my chilluns annual christmas song for our family. I hope it enhances your Christmas, or ruins you Christmas, either way is fine with me! :thumbs up::laughings:

Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer

Merry fucking Christmas. :listeningmusic:

It wouldn't be Christmas without one of your great Christmas songs and this continues the tradition. :)
Hope you and the family have a great Christmas!

Any recording details? Are they singing all at the same time or is it multi-track? Just wondering if you're using a headphone amp/headphones or live off the floor etc etc.

Thanks Ido. :)

As it is every year, they are pitch and timing challenged. That's what makes it cute to me. So I have each kid sing it one at a time all the way through and let them be pitchy and off time and just leave it alone. Once I have each take, I slice them up so each kid get's their own line for parts of the song.

I slice the tracks, not the kids.

Listening with a big smile. I always like your Christmas tunes.

And Merry Christmas right back at'cha Greg. Ya bastard. :)

Merry Christmas, Greg! Cute song, but do I detect an ACOUSTIC GUITAR in that mix? :laughings:

Thanks TripM.

Yeah bubba, there's a rare acoustic guitar appearance in a Greg mix. I reckon since the verses are country-ish, might as well put a stupid cowboy guitar in there to make it really suck. :D

haha, thats excellent - LOL, Greg owns an acoustic.

Have you got enough for an album or EP yet, mate?

I'm driving home from work and I have this track stuck in my head

good stuff man, nice work!

edit: sounds like there is ONE kid who can keep time. the rest.....

pretty cool, kinda a Kinks feel. the cut time parts are good. normally as a rule I dont listen to Christmas music. I caught myself humming it as I typed. Merry Christmas!:D

Pretty much your best yet. The guitar part's jingle bells figure, the sound of the bass run, the C&W verses, the kicked up key change at the end. And something about the girls' voices too, but I can't say it until I find out if they read this thread lol. Do they?

Great work, killer of fish. You'll miss us when you're gone. Really enjoyed it.

Thanks everybody.

JDOD - I don't actually own an acoustic. It's my wife's, and she never touches it, and I hate acoustics myself, so no one really claims it. It just sits neglected in a closet where it belongs until the rare occasion I need it for something. This is our 9th annual song. Next year will be 10 and I think we'll call it quits there, put em all on an album, give it out to the family, and just let it die.

dobro - when I'm gone? Where am I going?

Haha, I knew you'd deny it!

Sounds great though, keep it going as long as you can.

I did take a lot of care in miking the acoustic track though.

Not really. I put a mic up in the room and sat and played. One take, all the way through, bam, done, back in the closet. Fuck acoustic guitars.

That's the exact same thing I do, but I get set up real comfortable so I can just play though the song at least 4 times and try to cut out anything too noisy. I hate the sound of pick tapping wood in recordings.
