there are quite a few free mda vst-plug ins (and I have them all - I like free stuff
) and one is called "amp & speaker sim".
i've had it for a long time but I never used it on guitars... till today.
quite fine - I mean I tried ReValver which sounded ok on the guitar itself but sucked in the mix... and it's not free. but that mda thingie is small, free and very simple to use (ok, not that versatile).
but if you have an (pre-)amp with a line out you should download it and give it a try.
what do you think of it?
btw: did anyone ever have success with just eq-ing the direct signal of the amp's line-out?
