Is there any reason why I can't use the track direct outs as effect sends during mixdown? Has anyone else ever tryed this?

Yeah, but couldn't I route the track direct out to an effect and then mix the return back in with the original via one of the line inputs?

Yo Philadelphia PHIL:

I think you can run a signal into an effects box via the "in" and then run it out via the "OUT."

You can record effects at the same time you cut the track, vocal, guitar, keys, etc. Or, you can use the effect to hear it while recording; however, it doesn't really get recorded.

Or, you can do what I do: I use the effects while recording but they don't go on the recorded track; I wait until mixdown and then add effects.

The MD8 has two loops so I use two different effects boxes to get some "startling" effects.

Keep experimenting. You can check out direct recording effects/ in the MD8 manual. It's fairly easy to understand.

PS Just plugged in a new set of Yorkville YMS-1 monitors. They make the Alesis 1 monitors I UNPLUGGED, SOUND LIKE Dixie cups via string. Great boxes for the money.

your talking about the RCA channel outs right? I've never tried that, but I don't see why you couldnt.

Where's Nilbog going?

Where's Nilbog going? I've been MIA for a couple of months. Did I miss something?

OIC...sounds like he turned states evidence. LOL. I needed to ask him something...... Crap...He'll be missed.

Was it an MD8 question? If so I MAY be able to hekp ya (maybe).

Actually. it was about mixing down straight to CD from the md8. I remember him saying he had a pioneer burner and wanted to get the dope about the unit. I found a little info in a search since then. I'm gonna return when I have a few specific questions to ask.

Thanks
