MD8 and MMC commands

Hi

I would like to start the MD8 using MIDI MMC commands. The documentation says the MD8 can receive MMC commands but it can not be used as slave so this means that we can start and stop the MD8 from an other device but the MIDI clock used must be the one comming from the MD8.

I've tried to start the MD8 using my sequencer but it doesn't work. Maybe my sequencer doesn't send MMC commands but the documentation says it does. Did someone tried those commands to control the MD8 from another device ?

I'm trying to figure this mmc thing myself. I've found that recieving mmc to my 4-tr does nothing. If i set it as slave (mtc) i can sync with my pc but can only control it from my pc and not from the 4-tr controls. But if I set the 4-tr as master the 4-tr is fully funcional and syncs nice to my pc. Now I would like to start record by pressying play on my em-1 music production. Summary...mmc commands do nothing for me as well, but mtc commands do.
Fill me in on any progress. I'm curiuos as well
