What is the best way to move music from MiniDisc (MD4, no digital outs) to a .mp3 or .wav file?

I will be buying either a Audiophile 2486 or Delta 1010lt (if the budget can stretch).

Also, any advice on software to create file(s) appreciated.

A .wav file can usually be much cleaner and played at a faster rate. .MP3 is a type of compression. Usually one converts a .wav file to an .mp3 file as they are much smaller. For example, a 4 minute wav can be upwards of 75 MB while the same file can be compressed to about 3 mb as an .mp3. Most music recording software will record as .wavs or .aiff files. You can always convert it later. Most software like Vegas (Sonic Foundry) or Acid have coverters built in. I hope that helps. Ask if you need more, or I missed the point.
