MBox Pro 2

Hi there guys I am new to the forum, I have been looking for some info on an older version of Mbox Pro 2, and Protools 8, is there someone who can advise if this would be compatable?


I am running a G4 Mirrow Door.

Any advise would help thanks Guys.
 
Hi Lizid, welcome!

Yes, the Mbox pro 2 will work with protools 8. Im my opinion though, you should NOT buy the Mbox. They are (also in my opinion), a horrible waste of $700. If all you need is a simple 2 channel interface with some extra line ins, then I would recommend the presonus firestudio. Or sense you are using a mac, the Apogee duet (one of the best interfaces in the market, and its still cheaper than the mbox). And with the money you save from these, you can upgrade to PT9!

But if you are still set on the Mbox, yes, it will work fine with PT8

Thanks for the welcome, I already own the mbox and since I essencially did not pay for it I cant really complain.

Thanks for the info, I will look into the Apogee duet, but I must be honest I am looking for a well priced and decent multi track recorder I can use with protools.
Any Suggestions?

The Mbox is used at home for the occational Track lay with my guitar, and thats about it.
