Hi everyone. I'm getting ready to get into digital recording and was wondering if my HP computer would be compatible with an MBox 2? It has
512 MB pc2700 SDRam memory and 100GB 7200RPM Ultra DMA hard drive. The Processor is a 340 Intel Celeron D. Thanks.

It will most probably work, it just won't be "supported" by Digidesign. AMD Turion processors and HP computers are not "supported" but I just bought one and it works great with PT.

Go to digidesign.com and check compatability. If you're specific set up isn't there then call the 1-800 number provided in the website and ask them. That's exactly what I did and it took a grand total of 10 minutes. The guy I spoke with told me that my machine wasn't "fully" supported yet but to go ahead and go for it. Also you'd probably get more answers at duc.digidesign.com.

good advice. concerning the compatability page, the important thing is that none of your components is NOT supported. just because they don't list some of your gear as "supported" doesn't mean it won't work, but if some of your gear is under the "NOT supported" then that's the bit to look out for..

Thanks for all the advice. I'm gonna go for it.
The phone call sent me back to square.
