But I don't know: "Is there a website that will take your recording and "critique" it if you submit it to them?" You know.......the "your recording could use blah, blah, blah" type of thing.

Got that already....
Someone told me there is a site of "producer/engineer" type people that will critique your mix for you, give you suggestions etc. I have just been unable to find them. That way.....WHEN it does go to Garageband.com it is at least a good product. Have you heard of this? I should have made myself more clear to begin with. Sorry about that.

The Mp3 clinic here may not get you a response imediately but it will get you an honest critique of your work, have a little patience. The so calles critique sites will only get you the oppinion of one person, a forum critique will get you some comments from several and one person might hear something another dosen't.

The mp3 clinic is a great place for getting very realiable and diferent point of views from professionals. Even if your style of music doesnt macth the listener taste, they always have something usefull to say
