Does anyone know if this card will let me record two guitars and vocals simitaneously on there own tracks. When I look at it I see two ins and two outs. Can the outs be used as ins. It says 4 in 4 out.
I just took a quick look. There are 4 ins because the 2 "in" ports are stereo. Thus, they can carry separate tracks if you pan one hard left and the other hard right. I think you would need a mixer in front to get 4 simultaneous tracks.
Actually, yes, the card can record four tracks seperatly if your multitrack software and computer can. You can assign and split each of the two stereo inputs to two tracks each. It works within Nuendo for at least...
I cant figure out what "cep2" is... I feel quite the fool. Anyway, I can recommend the Maya so far, only had it for a week. The only warning is that I first got a defective one. I dont know if its common or not but I dont think so since the support guys were baffled...
i have some daw newbie friends i help who are very interested in this card P hallin.
if you get a chance sometime to post an mp3 would be much appreciated.
all tracks lining up/no latency/ ok etc ?
I used the maya44 for a few recordings. I was really happy with the soundquality of the card. Great converters for it's price! There is a nice no-latency mixer on the card for 2 x stereo outputs or 4 x mono's. Great.
I presume the mkII is the same, only 96khz,,, don't know the advantages of these specs for a home studio though. Just for sales?
The only problem was that mine just went dead. Hope this is incidental. Giving the card a second change since I'm bying the maya44 usb soon for the laptop.
Still looking for some sample mp3s using the maya mkII or atleast some feedback on how the card performs. Going to order mine next week. If none are posted here, I will help out and post some feedback in the next few weeks if someone doesn't beat me to it =)
