see what happens when you have fun, for a change. I hope my tunage has a fun feeling every time I post. I think maybe somewhere along the line you have to ask yourself certain questions about music, as well as home recording. Are you gonna be a number one hit maker? A star? A recording genius? A DJ? A songwriter for the masses? A musician to be reckoned with? Hell no, I'm not. If this wasn't fun I wouldn't do it. Think of all the "hobbies" you could be doing. And yes, all hobbies cost money. Wherein lies another question. Do you learn more and more about your own talent as a musician, and as a home recorder, and go out and spend huge amounts of cash to further explore this hobby? Hell yes we do. Why? Who the fuck knows? Some of the folks here are young, not married, no kids, and maybe have a decent job, wage wise, and can justify the expense. And some of us here are married, got kids, some in college, some not, and struggle just to make ends meet. And we still spend the huge amounts of cash to do this. Are we sick. Do we all need therapy. And then there's myself. Retired on a small, but adequate income, one child in the second year of a fairly expensive college, one child that we still support money wise, that's trying to make it in the real world (hopefully, now with a real job, and should become self supporting in the near future), a wonderful wife that works every day and should retire in a couple years. I work a part time job from early spring to early winter just to support my gear slut habit (and my golf habit), and to help out a little with the daily expense of living. So I ask again, why do we do this.
BECAUSE IT'S FUN.
(sorry for the rant)
