In one of your posts you wrote that you you APS Compressor as a noise gate. I put it between prolog and epilog but I don't know how to set it to be like a noise gate. If you could write your APS compressor setting or post picture with it I would be very thankful! If you have any other good ideas how to make Soundblaster Live work better with kX driver just write...
 
You must use the APS Expander with these settings:

Attack Time: 76
Release Time: 50
Output Gain: 0
Threshold: -60
Ratio: 37
Predelay: 4.0

The AC97 level in the I/O page must be at 22. Increase the volume of your external source (external mixer).
