Howdy Folks,

I would like to get an M-Audio card. My brother has a Delta 66 and it has always worked well for him. I need a few mic preamps and phantom power, so I am looking at the FW 410 and the Omni Studio. Which would your recommend, and why would you recommend it? Many thanks.

How many i/o connectivit ydo YOU need (410 has 2 analog inputs, 8 out, Delta 66 has 4/4)? Is having balanced analog I/O important to YOU (410 is unbalanced)? Do looks matter (the omni is imho one ugly sob).
They seem to cost the same (both $399,- @ 8thstreet).

If you have firewire on your computer or willing to add an fw interface then personally I'd go with the 410, but like I said: That's personal.

I thought that both have 4 ins.

Not terribly. It's nice to have, but will not make or break the deal.

I agree the Omni is none too pretty.

They seem to be quite close, feature wise. The Omni and the delta have been around longer. The firewire has the benefit of portability and simplicity. I'm just looking for opinons. Thanks for the input.
