Don't get your panties all bunched up this time...
Please be constructive in your comments...and try to stay on topic...if you please...Thanks :D

First...Thank you Chris Harris for helping me with the mix...
You are a cool individual...

Secondly...
Thank you WATYF for your candid and honest critique yesterday...
I do appreciate it man...I am indeed no where near being a Pro player or engineer...but, you never know unless you try...ya know?

Lastly...

Here is the link...Matrix Mix...at Soundclick.

Hi Joe,

I like the track - it has a good, soulful feel to it. I like the sort of celtic melodies that you use to develop the theme.

This is what I though as I listened -
- Duck the lead guitar back into the mix further, I wanted to hear the acoustics singing more. The jangle is good, but I would like to hear some of their bottom end.
- Liked the change, it really sang well. Maybe a change of instrumentation at this point or positioning would reinforce it more?
- In some of the lead guitar's faster picking sections I think you might need to re-track to be a little tighter and cleaner.

In general, I thought your mix might have -
- The very intro I would go with a fade-up using drums, bass and rhythm and then hit the lead guitars with a bang @ 0:08
- Been a tad over-compressed and lacking dynamics in the rhythm section.
- Something inthe mids sounded too loud and hurt my ear after a while at loud volume.
- Not enough bottom end
- Tiring on the ear, maybe check for too much @ 3kHz

Nice - the only other left field thing I would throw at you would be to maybe break it down for a two or four bar phrase with a bagpipe solo-ish line.

Let me know if you have ideas for a vocal track. Concepts or inclination - I will wail something back at you if ya like.

Post more!

Hey Joe,
Nice work man. I think the fade up was a nice touch. One thing that bothered me a little was the guitar tone...well not really the tone itself but the distortion. I feel it could have a "cleaner" sound. I'm not saying get rid of the distortion, just that it sounds almost like it's clipping with the fuzz in there. I like where you're going with it, and I like Qwerty's suggestion about the bagpipe thing. That maybe will allow you to "run around" the scale a little more or even change up on the scale altogether for a kind of bridge with the lead guitar. I'm just saying maybe throwing the bagpipe in there will give you some breathing room. Good piece!

Qwerty...

I just realized why you picked that name man....
left to right...top row of the keyboard....very cool :D

OK..Back on topic :D

Thank you man,
That is exactly the kind of comments and observations that I needed...it mirrors a lot of WATFY's comments from yesterday...
Very cool...

There is a lyric for this one man...but, it is for the Collab Challenge...the music will be more acoustic, slower tempo, with piano and hardly any lead guit...Skids is my partner on this one...I really do appreciate the offer too man....let me know if you would like to work on something else together...I am always up for a Collab...
Thanks again man...

BD...
You too man...thank you..good comments on structure and tone...
I think I will re-do this sometime in the future....from scratch..

Thanks again fellas,
Joe

No worries regarding the collab-thing -- it just 'sung' @ me :)
